This infographic project was meant to explore some sort of evolution or cycle. So I chose one of the coolest cycles I could think of: the periodic cycle of the 13 and 17 year cicadas. Not only do they have a fascinating development from egg to adult, they also have some broods that only emerge from the ground in 13 or 17 year periods as a defense mechanism!
