Faque’s Department Store

Branding - Book Design - Marketing

Faque’s department store of misrepresentations was a project built around a collection of artwork from the walter’s Art Museum in Baltimore. The goal was to take a few pieces from their collection and reimagine how a collection could be represented. During the process of finding artwork I was inspired by the fantasy and misrepresentation of subjects in several paintings and decided to create some sort of fiction in order to contain these “fakes”. I settled on creating the setting of a department store that sells you misrepresentations and built a brand around it. My deliverables were a store catalogue full of the offending misrepresentations and a series of flyers advertising FAQUE’S.
