The Humble Spud

The humble spud is in fact not as insignificant as its brown, lumpy appearance would have you think. In this project I explored the potential of the potato, both to nourish and keep one alive or to rot and kill. Potatoes are incredibly nutritious. If someone was increbibly taken by the idea, they could survive on potatoes alone for a surprisingly long amount of time. They also produce an incedibly deadly neurotoxin gas if not stored properly and left to rot. I wanted to give a fair account of both of these extremes of the potato and craft an graceful, elegant aesthetic around this information that contradicts the potatoes dopey form.
